Learning more Japanese puns

駄洒落 [dajare]
These are a few more interesting Japanese puns I have come across recently.

Crazy about lettuce in Tasmania.

金正日、近所にいる [kimujoniru, kinjo ni iru]

「生卵」の発音が訛った孫 [“namatamago” no hatsuon ga namatta mago]
(The) grandchild mispronounces (the words) “raw eggs.”

発音-pronounciation
訛った-to mispronounce/accent
孫-grandchild

貴社の記者は汽車で帰社しました [kisha no kisha wa kisha de kisha shimashita.]
Your company’s reporter went back to his office by steam train.

貴社-your company (honorific)
記者-reporter
汽車-steam train
帰社しました-returned to office

There are so many homophones in Japanese, i.e. words with different meanings that have the same pronunciation, that the number of possible puns that can be created are endless.
